Race Run for Relief Burma 5k
Description A 5km race around Huay Tung Thao

When Saturday 15th March, start time 8:00 am
Why For thousands of villagers throughout Burma, running has become a part of everyday life. T hey are forced from their homes. Their possessions and food are being destroyed. They are unable to return to their homes for fear of being shot by the Burma Army or maimed by land mines. Let us join together to show that those who have the freedom to run have not forgotten those who have no choice but to run.
Cost

200 Baht entry, 200 Baht for t-shirts/flip-flops. Registration from 7:00am

Notes

The event will include a 100 meter dash for small children and a 5k run/walk including an all new Flip Flop division. Villagers often have to run wearing only Flip Flops, see if you can do the same. Free pair to those who try.

Directions: drive north on Cholpratam Road (the big Canal Road west of town) toward the 700 Year Stadium. Continue on past the stadium for approximately 3 kilometers. Approximately 300 meters before the Cholpratam Road ends at the Mae Rim turn-off, turn left and cross a bridge. The parking lot where the race begins is the second right.
